Did you know that the shape of a glass can change the taste of beer? Friends of the RA are invited to join a masterclass from Spiegelau, where you will taste quality beers in specially crafted glasses. At the end of the masterclass, you can keep your glass set to continue your enjoyment at home.

Focusing on beer enjoyment, Matt Knight invites Friends of the RA to join a fun and informative masterclass, with a taste comparison of quality ales across specially crafted glasses. Spiegelau Craft Beer Glasses have been approved by an expert tasting panel of master brewers and industry professionals. Members of the tasting workshop tested multiple glass shapes to find the best glass for India Pale Ale, Wheat Beer and Stout. In this masterclass you will learn about the functional design behind glasses that bring out the best in complex craft beers.

In the experts’ opinion, the custom-shaped glasses deliver the complexity of aromas on the nose while demonstrating the optimum beer texture, balance and flavor intensity on the palate. For their functional and innovative product design the Spiegelau Craft Beer Glasses have been awarded the renowned Red Dot Award and the IDEA Gold award in 2015.

The short video below gives a taste of what to expect from the event, with insight to the process behind creating just one glass within the set you will take home with you.
