We want as many people as possible to be able to use our websites. For example, you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the websites using a keyboard
- navigate most of the websites using speech recognition software
- listen to most of the websites using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
We are working towards making website text as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this website is
We are actively working to make our websites compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard.
We know some parts are not fully accessible and that you may encounter:
- Occasional headings in the wrong order
- Images with missing or incorrect alternative text
- Some PDF and Microsoft Office documents that are not formatted to be accessible
- HTML markup errors that may make using a screen reader difficult
- Issues with third party forms
- Issues with a third party survey pop up
- Issues with the third party cookie consent platform we use, where the pop up asking for user consent may not be fully accessible when tabbing through content
Some areas of our websites have not yet been reviewed for accessibility issues, which means they may not be fully accessible. These are outlined below.

A specialist agency, TPX Impact, has been involved throughout the ongoing development of our website, helping to make both the look and feel and the technical functionality as accessible as possible. We've used digital accessibility testing tools to regularly test our websites including Chrome Lighthouse, screen readers, axe DevTools, colour contrast checkers, SiteImprove and others. We've tested using built-in assistive technologies on mobile, including the zoom function for optimal enlargement, tools which provide spoken or audible feedback to ensure compatibility with screen readers, and keyboard functionality to facilitate navigation solely via keyboard input.
