This exhibition is the first in a new series celebrating the work of our Royal Academicians. Mick Rooney RA describes the selection as ‘the snippets that come out of the everyday’.
Born in 1944, Mick Rooney RA studied at both the Royal College of Art and British School of Rome. Since then he has taught and exhibited widely in the UK and abroad, receiving numerous awards for his work.
This exhibition presents a diverse range of drawings, prints and key paintings from the past 35 years showing the extraordinary breadth of Rooney’s practice. He describes the selection as ‘the snippets that come out of the everyday’. The works, many of them sketchbook drawings, explore subjects ranging from intimate family studies to witty musings upon life in general. Rooney was elected a Royal Academician in 1991. He lives and works in Charlbury, Oxfordshire.
This exhibition is the first of a new series celebrating the work of Royal Academicians, entitled ‘Members in Focus’.
All works are available for sale. For further details please ask at the Membership Desk or call 020 7300 5932.
