Young people's programme: life drawing
Saturday 18 July 2020 11am - 3pm
The Life Drawing Room, RA Schools, Burlington House, Royal Academy of Arts
Free for young people aged 15 - 19. Booking required.
Learn how to draw the body, internally and externally, in this free, practical workshop for young people aged 15-19.
Due to the ongoing circumstances surrounding coronavirus, we regret to inform you that we have made the difficult decision to cancel all events advertised for 2020 at this moment.
Develop your understanding of the human body, its skin, muscles and skeleton in a figure drawing workshop given by artist Mark Hampson.
Using a variety of traditional anatomical approaches, you’ll explore how the body is constructed and how this affects appearance and physical movement.
Mark Hampson is an artist and Head of Fine Art Processes at the RA Schools. Portraiture and the body are central to his artistic imagery.
Our young people’s programme invites 15 – 19yr olds to take part in free, practical workshops led by professional artists. Inspired by our exhibition programme and the RA Collection, each workshop focuses on working with new materials and discussing different approaches to making art.
Young Artists' Summer Show
We're now accepting submissions for this year's Young Artists Summer Show – an opportunity for students aged 5–19 to exhibit their work online and at the RA.
All you have to do is ask your teacher to register your school to take part. Once that's done you can enter your artworks via the website until the deadline on 24 April 2020.
