Young Patrons: in the studio with Lindsey Mendick
Tuesday 10 March 2020 6.30 - 8pm
Elephant and Castle, Full address provided on RSVP.
Free for Young Patrons, booking required.
Young Patrons are invited to Lindsey Mendick’s studio to find out more about her colourful practice; a riotous exploration of femininity, taste and identity.
Mendick’s work include ceramics, banner painting, sewing, metalwork, furniture, and sound which all draw from classical painting, mythical women and pop culture iconography to name a few; creating often humorously decadent and elaborate installations that tell a defiant story that is at once both vulnerable and resilient.
Lindsey Mendick (born 1987) lives and works in London. She graduated from the Royal College of Art with an MA in Sculpture in 2017. She was the recipient of the Alexandra Reinhardt memorial award in 2018. Mendick has since had numerous international gallery and museum exhibitions.
