Join artists, experts and printmakers for this two-day art business course – an in-depth introduction to the world of prints: from how they are made to building an art collection.
Please note: this is an on-site event only
Printmaking is an integral part of the Royal Academy. This weekend gives an inside look at how prints are made; the various forms of prints and printing; and the collaborative processes between artists and their printers. The course includes a private tour of the RA’s print displays, its archive and print room, and features talks from a number of Royal Academicians, artists and experts. Expert tutors explain the terminology behind prints and will include tips and expertise on starting or building a print collection – as well as hanging and presenting your prints.
Participants have access to the RA Editions programme and the opportunity to invest in work by Royal Academicians, graduates and associates of the Royal Academy Schools.
This weekend course is aimed at both seasoned collectors wishing to broaden their collecting horizons and to those wishing to start an art collection. With specialist information on key trends and developments in the print market, as well as on caring for and displaying prints, the course will above all offer a guide for those wishing to buy, understand and enjoy prints.
Minimum age 18. Please note this course will include some site visits, and as such some walking. If you have any questions or concerns, or would like to discuss any accessibility needs, please contact academic.programmes@royalacademy.org.uk.
