Opening especially for Friends, we visit the former home of art collector Stanley Picker (1913–1982) to explore the paintings, sculptures and objects he gathered throughout his lifetime.
The collection is a fascinating account of London’s art market in the 1950s, as much was acquired through Picker’s personal relationships with gallery owners.
Our tour of the house, built by architect Kenneth Wood in 1968, is a late-modernist creation designed specifically to showcase Picker’s art collection, which includes works by Chagall, Hepworth, Moore and many others. An intriguing circular garden gallery was added in 1976 to accommodate his expanding collection.
When booking for this event, please choose between the following two time slots: 11am–1pm or 2–4pm.
