Esmeralda Valencia Lindström, Auditorium Plants (still, cropped), 2019.

Drop in for a free 15-minute talk to unearth the hidden stories of the Royal Academy.

Join us to explore Move Away from the Aubergine, the latest display in the Weston Studios. Through video and sculpture, RA Schools graduate Esmeralda Valencia Lindström explores spaces across the RA from the perspective of animals, plants and the architecture itself. Move Away from the Aubergine presents alternative views: ways of looking that are close-up, below, above and to-the-side. Proposing movement as a starting point for empathy, these works seek to lead us into the routes, gestures and vibrations of other species and materials.

In this series of taster talks, encounter the stories behind the RA’s remarkable Collection and buildings from the RA staff’s insider perspective. Taster talks take place at 2pm on Mondays and Thursdays.

Taster talks are free and last 15 minutes. Ask a member of the team on site for further information.
