Practice your figure drawing skills in this Saturday Sketch Club.
Start your Saturday creatively with this online art class. Working directly from professional life models, you will learn about form and proportion by drawing the figure in a variety of shorter and longer poses. Tutor Shannon Bono will lead exercises and techniques that take inspiration from the drawings, paintings, and sculptures in the Royal Academy’s collection.
Our Saturday Sketch Clubs are a series of online monthly art classes led by artists. Whether you're a beginner or a practicing artist, these live-streamed classes are designed for everyone. Sessions take place online via a live webinar. Attendees will be sent a link to join the webinar closer to the time.
Share your work with the online Sketch Club community by posting your drawings to Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #RASketchClub or join our Facebook group to connect with other participants.
Shannon Bono is an artist who received her MA in Art & Science from Central Saint Martins University and her Associate Fellowship in higher education from the University of the Arts London and has shown her work in the UK and internationally. With a background in art and science, Shannon’s practice uses the anatomy as a second canvas in the foreground of her works, she views the body as a powerful signifier that provokes dialogue, playing with pose, gesture and the gaze to challenge reality.
For this class, all you will need is a pencil, paper and a rubber.
