Learn how to draw costumes and clothes on the human figure in this online art class.
Start your Saturday creatively with this online art class. Capturing clothes on the human body is part of the artistic tradition: from costumed history painting to full-body portraits. Inspired by the 300th birthday of founding Royal Academy President, Sir Joshua Reynolds PRA, in this Saturday Sketch Club you will draw from two costumed life models. Learn how to capture texture, tackle drapes and shadows, and pick up new techniques for making dramatic clothing and costumes look real in your work.
Our Saturday Sketch Clubs are a series of online monthly art classes led by artists. Whether you're a beginner or a practicing artist, these live-streamed classes are designed for everyone. Sessions take place online via a live webinar. Attendees will be sent a link to join the webinar closer to the time.
Share your work with the online Sketch Club community by posting your drawings to Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #RASketchClub or join our Facebook group to connect with other participants.
