Royal Academy America: Private Tour – Richard Long RA at the Judd Foundation
Led by Richard Long RA and Flavin Judd
Friday 30 September 2016 5.30 - 6.30pm
Judd Foundation, 101 Spring Street, New York, NY
RA America Patrons only.
Richard Long RA, once described by Donald Judd as "the best artist in Europe", creates two new monumental terracotta works as part of a temporary installation at Judd's former home and studio in New York.
For this installation at 101 Spring Street, Long will use a terracotta slip to make works on the two east walls that extend the length of the building, measuring nearly 60 feet. Though Judd historically used the ground floor of 101 Spring Street for the exhibition of his work and others, Long’s work has never before been exhibited in the space.
Please join us for a private walkthrough of the exhibition with Richard Long RA and Flavin Judd, son of Donald Judd and co-president of the Judd Foundation, before it opens to the public. The tour will take place from 5.30–6.30pm followed by a private opening reception.
