Join us in the Summer Exhibition Architecture Room to hear Jack Hosea, Director of Threefold Architects, discuss the winning project of the Rocco Forte Hotels Architecture Prize: 'From Forest to Facade, a Woodlands Survey'.
This year, the Summer Exhibition’s Architecture Room has been selected by architect and Royal Academician Spencer de Grey RA, who encouraged architects to submit projects with a clear sustainable agenda.
The judges have now identified the most exceptional projects in the room and have awarded Threefold Architects the £5,000 Rocco Forte Hotels Architecture Prize, recognising an outstanding work of architectural design.
The jury, including Spencer de Grey RA, Olga Polizzi, Director of Design at Rocco Forte Hotels, and Ellie Stathaki of Wallpaper noted that "this beautiful expressive drawing, which is hand drawn, clearly displays a thought process for sustainable building based on research and innovation. From the sketch of the proposed house, to the site survey drawings and calculations of the relationship between forestry, trees and building materials, it demonstrates an inspiring, holistic design approach by an emerging architectural practice."
During this short in-gallery talk, Jack Hosea, one of three directors of Threefold Architects, will discuss From Forest to Facade, a Woodlands Survey and how it enabled an engagement with the curatorial brief.
