Tim Sayer MBE, a retired BBC Radio 4 news writer and a prolific collector, has been passionately collecting art for more than 50 years – 30 of them with his wife, Annemarie Norton.
The collection includes works by some of the world’s greatest artists: Alexander Calder, Anthony Caro, Sonia Delaunay, David Hockney, Henry Moore, Sol Lewitt, Paul Nash, Pablo Picasso and Bridget Riley. The entire collection, comprising of more than 400 works including ceramics, sculptures, paintings and works on paper, as well as a significant library of books, is to be gifted to the Wakefield Permanent Art Collection, held at The Hepworth Wakefield in West Yorkshire.
