Mavericks
Join us for a special evening in celebration of the exhibition 'Mavericks: Breaking the Mould of British Architecture.' A conversation with the curator and book signing will be followed by an in-depth tour of the installation.
Friends of the RA are invited to an intimate conversation with Owen Hopkins, Architecture Programme Curator, who will be discussing his installation Mavericks: Breaking the Mould of British Architecture and the book which it accompanies.
Mavericks charts the course of British architecture through twelve maverick architects: Smythson, Vanbrugh, Wyatt, Soane, Cockerell, Mackintosh, Holden, Goodhart-Rendel, Stirling, Price, FAT and Hadid, and considers the question “what makes an architect a maverick?”
A signed copy of the book and a welcome drink are included in your ticket.
