Friends are invited to join a monthly film club at the Royal Academy of Arts where artists turned filmmakers screen and discuss their work. This exciting series launches with Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard ‘Early Works’.
Having received widespread attention for their documentary ‘20,000 Days on Earth’ in 2014, a portrait of the musician Nick Cave that was itself the culmination of a fifteen year art project; artist filmmakers Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard have been working together since meeting at Goldsmiths in the mid 1990s. With an emphasis on reenactment and music culture at the centre of their work, they have been exhibited by the Tate, the ICA, and Sydney Opera House, amongst others, with their films creating a cinematic experience infused with a hallucinatory theatricality.
We welcome Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard to present a variety of early work and to discuss their transition into feature filmmaking.
Booking is essential for this event, if you wish to bring a guest please book one ticket for each person.
Tickets include a welcome drink and popcorn.

The East End Film Festival with the Royal Academy or Arts
The East End Film Festival is one of the largest multimedia arts festivals in London. Presenting some of the most inspiring and boundary pushing new films from all over the world to London audiences each summer, the festival is a home for cross platform work, and artists who embrace a movement between mediums.
The EEFF is now collaborating with the Royal Academy on a series of special film screenings exploring the work of multimedia artists embracing the possibilities of combining film with a variety of other art forms, with an increasing drive towards feature filmmaking.
