Enjoy a unique backstage tour of The Old Vic, described by The Stage as ‘London’s most eclectic theatre’.
On this tour led by the Stage Door Keeper, Friends have the opportunity to see backstage areas not normally open to the public, including the stage door and stage, as well as the foyer, auditorium and upper circle.
Built in 1818, The Old Vic is an independent not-for-profit theatre that has hosted some of the most iconic productions in London’s stage history including Othello, starring Maggie Smith and Laurence Olivier and five-time Olivier-nominated Amadeus. The Stage Door Keeper will share stories of the theatre’s architecture and past, as well as the history of the Old Vic Company, which went on to found the National Theatre on the Southbank.
This event will also be held on 17 August
