As 'Revolution: Russian Art 1917-1932' opens at the RA, join us for this unique opportunity to find out more about the revolutionary developments of the Futurist Movement in Italy during the same period of time.
Assistant Curator Christopher Adams leads our tour of the permanent collection in Britain’s only gallery devoted to modern Italian art. The collection includes renowned works by the Italian Futurists including Umberto Boccioni’s Modern Idol (1911), Luigi Russolo’s Music (1911) and Gino Severini’s The Boulevard (1911). Other featured artists include Amedeo Modigliani, Georgio de Chirico and Giorgio Morandi.
We also have time to view the gallery’s temporary exhibition War in the Sunshine: The British in Italy 1917-18, which brings together 25 rarely shown artworks and 50 photographs documenting the little-known role of British forces in Italy during the First World War.
