Join Friends for our exclusive tour of the former home of art collector Stanley Picker and discover his astonishing collection of paintings, sculptures and furniture.
A lifelong patron and collector of the arts, Stanley Picker (1913–1982) amassed a collection that serves as a fascinating depiction of London’s art market in the 1950s. Many of the items were acquired in this decade through Stanley Picker’s personal relationships with gallery owners. On this tour, we'll visit the unique house that holds the collection, which was built for Picker in 1968 by architect Kenneth Wood. The late-modernist creation was designed specifically to showcase this surprising selection of work, which includes pieces by Marc Chagall, Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore and LS Lowry RA.
This event will also be held on the same day from 11am-1pm
