Friends excursion: Sands Films
Join us for a tour of Sands Films, one of the UK’s leading period costumiers. Also a working film studio, the workshops are housed in a former granary on the banks of the Thames in Rotherhithe.
Sands Films has created costumes for films and TV programmes such as Poldark, Victoria, Les Misérables and Wolf Hall. Managing Director Olivier Stockman leads a comprehensive tour of the studios, cinema, theatre and costume workshops, where dyeing, printing and corset and crinoline-making take place.
We also visit the Rotherhithe Picture Library, housed in the same building, which contains a wealth of history about this fascinating area on the banks of the river Thames.
