On this tour for Friends, hear from the highly skilled team specialising in traditional fine woodcarving and gilding. Beautifully crafted for numerous settings, Friends may have already seen examples of the company’s exquisite work on previous excursions, with clientele including Woburn Abbey, Windsor Castle, Spencer House, Houghton Hall and Hampton Court. In this behind-the-scenes tour of the Carvers and Guilders studio, discover the rare techniques and dexterous skill behind the conservation and restoration of traditional decorative design.
Specialising in the hugely diverse English and European traditional design practice of the late-17th to mid-19th century, Carvers and Gilders are Royal Warrant holders, members of the Master Carvers Association, ICON and the Guild of Master Craftsmen.
