Create alternative family portraits in this Helene Schjerfbeck-inspired workshop and tour of the exhibition.
This drawing and photography workshop will get the whole family exploring different portrait techniques. First, take an alternative tour without words through the exhibition of work by Finnish artist, Helene Schjerfbeck. How do we communicate without speaking? Are Schjerfbeck's portraits saying something to you?
Then, in the Clore Learning Centre, try your hand at some drawing challenges before creating photo portraits of yourself and a family member. What feeling or mindset do you want to capture?
This workshop will be led by Minna Suoniemi, a Helsinki-based artist working with moving image and video installation.
Ticket includes entry into the Helene Schjerfbeck exhibition. All family members must have their own ticket. All materials provided.
Suitable for children aged 7+ and their families.
