Demonstrate & Create
Saturday 13 April 2019 2 - 3.30pm
The Clore Learning Centre, Burlington Gardens, Royal Academy of Arts
Free, no booking required.
Join us at the RA on the second Saturday of every month for an artist-led taster workshop, focusing on a specific artistic technique each session.
In this workshop you will have the opportunity to make you own plaster-cast relief. Taking inspiration from plaster sculptural pieces found in the RA Collections, you will learn about the process of taking a textural cast using clay as a mould.
In these monthly workshops, our artist will demonstrate an artistic technique relating to an object in the RA’s permanent Collection or to a specific historical architectural feature of the building. This will be followed by a short creative session, supported by volunteers, in which you can create your own work inspired by the technique.
To sign up, look out for our volunteers in the Wohl Entrance Hall, Burlington Gardens from 1pm. These sessions are free but spaces are limited.
