Artist Grace Schwindt has created a new commission for the context of the courtyard at the Royal Academy of Arts, exploring the fragility of the physical in modern society.
Grace Schwindt has a multidisciplinary practice combining visual art and performance. Through her films, performances, drawings, sculptures and texts, Schwindt analyses the role of bodies, language and objects in the construction of history and memory. This special performance is the second part of a work which brings an opera singer performing underneath Ron Arad’s new sculptural commission.
This event is presented by Block Universe, an annual performance art festival that brings together a new wave of cutting-edge performance at the cross-section of contemporary visual art, dance and music in major institutions and unique venues across London.
