Joseph Cornell
Last chance to hear curator Sarah Lea introduce her critically acclaimed exhibition as she describes Cornell’s life, career and eclectic interests in an exclusive talk.
Sarah Lea is the curator of Joseph Cornell: Wanderlust, the first solo exhibition of Cornell’s pioneering assemblage art to be held in the UK for a generation. In this final opportunity to hear from her before it closes, she will give an informative and illuminating overview of Cornell’s unusual path to becoming an artist, his unique working process and the remarkably diverse interests which informed his work.
After the talk, guests will be invited to visit Joseph Cornell: Wanderlust across the road at the Royal Academy at the discounted price of just £8 per person. This landmark exhibition brings together over 80 remarkable box constructions, assemblages, collages and films in a long-overdue celebration of one of 20th century art’s most original voices.

Such restrained curation. Such exquisite (and rarely lent) pieces. I don’t think this exhibition's achievement can be overstated.
