Podcast: Yinka Shonibare MBE RA and David Shrigley in conversation with Dr Gilda Williams

Published 14 October 2016

In conversation with the art critic and lecturer, Gilda Williams, the two artists discuss their new work, as well as experiences creating pieces for the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square.

  • In this event we brought together two celebrated artists on the occasion of Shonibare’s sixth solo exhibition at Stephen Friedman Gallery titled …and the wall fell away and the unveiling of David Shrigley’s Fourth Plinth commission Really Good in Trafalgar Square. Both influential artists share a particular perspective on British humour and reflect on the impact on their respective practices of being commissioned to create art for the Fourth Plinth.
