Content Description

His hand is recovering, although still disordered. The commission for Flaxman has pleased him greatly. He took White's letter to Towne to read. Mr. and Mrs. Lardiner are staying with him. Mr. Hoppner has, almost miraculously, recovered from a dopsy, and means to exhibit, while Mr. Lawrence does not. His Titians did not satisfy the public. A nephew of his brother, Day, is to marry a daughter of George Hardinge and a cousin of Earl Camden with a fortune of ten thousand pounds. Mrs. Griffiths is to sit to Lawrence for a drawing to be given to Humphry.
