Frontispiece - drawing of a proposed tomb for Ozias Humphry, by Joseph Gandy. A simple monument, a square tomb, decorated with chevron and chequered stripes, surmounted by an eastern cross. A palette is drawn on one side, with "R.A." written above it.

Adjacent to the drawing is a note by William Upcott stating the contents of the volume.
