Speaks of Mr. Holmes and a project to supply water to Greenwich; he tried to see Garrick play Hamlet, but couldn't get in; he has used his fourteen days holiday from the Academy to study; he provides news of family friends and has spent time with the Wingfelds; he has not yet been to see curiosities belonging to Mr. Willatt; he requests Samuel to make a telescope for Sir Joshua for his new house in Richmond; he provides news of Mr. Dodge's friend Mr. Pine; he records prevailing attitudes regarding drawing from the female nude, including those of Miss Reynolds; he provides some detail of what is available at Sir Joshua's table and an account of the award of Premiums at the Academy, [Daniel] Gardner would have won should his picture have been complete; he says going to see the Anatomy lectures [by Hunter] is almost like going to see Garrick act; concludes with a request for pilchards; Mr Banks has sat twice to Sir Joshua.
