Content Description

His life is uncomplicated as he studies very hard, Joseph Wright of Derby loves the work so much he prepares his pallet before daybreak; Mr. Barret says he would never let a son of his paint unless the inclination to do so was "violent"; he has visited [Daniel] Gardner; mentions a debt between Mrs Smeaton and Mrs May that he can settle; again discusses the role of anatomy in art training and the lectures of Dr. Hunter; Miss Reynolds continues good-naturedly and he still sees much of the Wingfelds and Mr. Gardner; he is sending them some figure studies that he wishes them to preserve.
