Landscape engraver / etcher. Studied in Birmingham and London; worked in London. Advocated the inclusion of engravers in the Royal Academy. Brother of engraver Charles Pye (1777-1864); married (1808) Mary Middiman, daughter of engraver Samuel Middiman.
