He started his own press in 1930, the name based on the building where he was working. He taught himself the entire process and had 2 Albion Presses and cast his own type. He had the font Aries designed for his private use by Eric Gill. He published mystical works and art and literature titles – in later years he produced some beautiful colour printing from lino-cuts.

In 1949 he relocated to the Cape and stayed there till returning to London in 1961 where he died in 1982.
