`The edition comprises: 12 copies, lettered A-L and signed by the artist, each containing an original drawing, a set of signed proofs and the etchings in the first state, and a set of signed prints in final state; of which four copies are for presentation. 135 copies, numbered I-CXXXV and signed by the artist, each containing a set of signed prints in final state; of which ten copies are for presentation. 270 copies, numbered 1-270 of which twenty copies are for presentation.’ [colophon].
The book is illustrated with 8 etchings by Anthony Gross, with another loose set of the eight etchings which are all signed and housed in a separate box.
`Designed and printed by Will and Sebastian Carter at the Rampant Lions Press, Cambridge in Hermann Zapf’s Palatino types. The etchings printed by Studio Prints. Paper made by J. Barcham Green. Bound by Wigmore Bindery.’ (Page [55]).

Binding Note

Quarter bound in buff cloth with embossed and gilt bull's head on upper cover. Brown morocco spine lettered in gilt: `Sixe Idyllia of Theocritus'. The 8 loose etchings are housed separate box with marbled paper covers and lettered in gilt on the spine: `The Etchings' In slipcase.
