The essay, Musée Olympique De L'Ecole Vivante Des Beaux-Arts, in which the author pleads for the encouragement of contemporary painters and sculptors, had first been published in 1796. It contributed to the establishment of the Musée du Luxembourg in Paris in the early nineteenth century. |
