He has been busy with work in the mornings and the Miss Lees in the evenings; he is glad of Farington's recovery and that Farington is sketching in colour from nature, he sees the merit of the Watercolourists as lying in this; he is to leave with Angerstein to Wellingham; he is finishing the grandsons of Sir Francis; he knows nothing of the Academy but Smirke wants to write; he criticises the Academy and the character of Arnald; Wellington has continued success and Massena's army is in dire straits.
