He is saddened by the news of Sir Francis's death; he has received a letter from Alexander Baring concerning the event; he is pleased that Lord De Dunstanville is being civil to Farington, Lawrence's father always spoke of Sir Francis Bassett with respect; he provides his opinion on the resolution of the dispute at Covent Garden Theatre; he went with Robert Smirke and witnessed the last storm over "Nightly Boxes", he and Robert Smirke think Kemble performed weakly in the whole affair; he is engaged by Royalty; he mentions a conversation with Angerstein about [Ströhling's] dispute with Lambton; Knight has written ably on Barry's life, considering his "utter" ignorance on the subject, he thinks Shee should answer the article.
