He has heard of White's indisposition with pain. He hopes soon to be able to visit Devon as he has received an addition of £100 a year on his income. He papers relating to India are with the Lord Chancellor and the affairs of Oude are soon to be settled. The Chancellor said that if Humphry were a clergyman he could assist him viz. an appointment with the lottery, but not otherwise; N. Bond then suggested he take orders! The Chancellor says he will talk to George Rose about Humphry's position.
