Symons informs Middleton Todd that he is enclosing a cheque for £452 5s in payment for the portrait of the Archbishop of Canterbury. He adds that he is personally very pleased with the portrait. The letter encloses Middleton's Todd's note of fees and his draft letter in reply, dated 23 January 1954, including (on the reverse) a copy of his receipt.
