The letter also encloses copies of letters from Middleton Todd to Hornby, giving details of his requirements in terms of sittings, dated 8 May 1954; to Micklem, stating that he was pleased to be painting his portrait, and making personal arrangements for sittings, dated 22 May 1954; and to Hornby, apologising for a delay in sending Micklem's portrait, and stating that it had been photographed, dated 28 September 1955.
