Historical Background

The proposal was submitted to the Constitution Committee on 5 November 1918. The wording was further altered in the minutes to read 'Artist-Craftsmen'.

Content Description

Draft of proposal by Reginald Blomfield, seconded by D. Y. Cameron, entitled 'New Rule 3A', that 'there shall be another class of members consisting of Associates who shall be called Associate Craftsmen of the R. A.' (The word 'Artist' is inserted in pencil between 'Associate' and 'Craftsmen').
