Volume of minutes of the Council, including the following selected entries: a note of the receipt by the President, Sir Francis Grant of an anonymous threatening letter, 25 March 1869; a note of the decision of the General Assembly to institute a winter exhibition of the works of old masters, 21 October 1869; draft report of the Secretary, John P. Knight, on the propositions of Richard Redgrave, which had been referred to the Council by the General Assembly, including the recommendation that the Council be increased to twelve members, 18 July 1870; a note of the passing of resolutions proposed by a committee to enquire into the reorganisation of the official departments, relating to the Keeper, Secretary and Librarian, including the amendment that the Secretary should not necessarily be a member of the Royal Academy, 14 May 1872 and further resolutions under the same headings, including the ratification of a General Assembly resolution that the Secretary should not be a member of the Royal Academy, 15 November 1872; a note of the adoption of a code of obligations for the office of Keeper, following the submission of a paper by Richard Redgrave, 31 July 1873; and a note of the reading of correspondence relating to the possibility of holding a winter exhibition of the works of Sir Edwin Landseer, 28 October 1873.
