She should be assured that Albert Toft will try to ensure that the bust of Gilbert will be his best work, as he knew the sculptor all his life. He thinks that the National Portrait Gallery will immedaitely accept the work. He knows the Director, Hake, very well. He is rather confused abouth her reference to the R.A. not acquiring the 'Icasrus'.

Her father, Henry Wells was once one of his few Royal Academician friends. He remembers Millais once saying that he always valued Well's criticism before submitting a painting for display.
