The benefits of working at the RA
Reaching your potential
Investing in staff development is important to us, and we are ambitious about allowing staff to grow and fulfil their potential.
We offer a management development programme and courses focusing on diversity, inclusion and wellbeing.
For each RA exhibition, you will be invited to a preview talk from the curator, and naturally you can visit our exhibitions as many times as you like.
Staff can walk their friends and family into our exhibitions with their staff pass.
You can visit exhibitions for free at many other arts institutions and museums across London, the UK and New York. We want to maximise your cultural opportunities whilst working at the RA.
Our pension scheme includes generous employer contributions: if you contribute 3%, we’ll contribute 5%; if you contribute 6%, we’ll contribute 10%.
We appreciate that regular holiday is essential for you to be at your best. Our staff enjoy 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, as well as additional leave over the Christmas period.
The wellbeing of our staff is important to us. We offer a virtual GP service, a cycle to work scheme and contributions towards glasses for VDU users.
We also train staff to be Mental Health First Aiders.
At the RA we create opportunities to be connected with colleagues and be inspired by each other.
Our agile working policy offers staff the opportunity to work flexibly, optimising everyone’s performance and productivity.
RA Staff Council
Having open, two-way communication, sharing information and debating matters of importance is important to us at the RA. At our staff council your views are heard by colleagues, our senior leadership team and our CEO.
Do you love to sing in a choir? Or perhaps you’re looking for a weeknight football team to join?
Our employee clubs give you a chance to unwind and get to know colleagues better.
