This is a photocopy of an original copy in the British Library of the anonymous publication which appeared in 1774 (General Reference Collection number 116.i.30).
The photocopy of the Observations is accompanied by two letters (dated 8/3/96 and 12/3/96) from Dr John Edgcumbe to Nicholas Savage (Librarian and Director of Collections in the Royal Academy) enclosing several photocopies of articles by John Hope which appear to be similar in substance and style to that of the Observations.
