The South London Gallery may be a bit far afield for Frieze week, but its impressive new extension is worth a look – and its fabulous café that literally glows with a gold leaf mural by Paul Morrison and serves some of the best coffee in town is a perfect place to rest weary feet.
More ambitious art lovers should also head out here to check out their show of Tatiana Trouvé. This is the first solo London show for this French artist who has already been shown at the Pompidou in a show curated by New York curator Rob Storr (who curated the 2007 Venice Biennale and included her in it).
Her intriguing work, which combines sculpture, painting and drawing in architectural installations, invites the viewer to wander through a series of different spaces of varying dimensions, heights and textures, suggesting a complex web of connection between the different elements.
