Your design should include the letters R and A, but beyond that, it’s up to you. You can download our “RA” logo below, plus a cut-out of Joshua Reynolds that you can include if you want to. We’ll need it to work as both a square and in a circle crop, to look its best on both Twitter and Instagram. Your square image should be 1200 x 1200 pixels.
How to enter
To enter, simply post your image on Instagram or Twitter by midnight on Wednesday 29 March using the hashtag #profilerevolution, mentioning @royalacademyarts on Instagram and @royalacademy on Twitter. Entries will be judged by the RA curatorial team.
The winner will be announced on Thursday 30 March on our Instagram, @RoyalAcademyArts, and our Twitter, @RoyalAcademy. Their design will be featured on the RA’s social media until the exhibition closes on 17 April, as well as receiving tickets to the next RA Late, America Dreaming and an exhibition catalogue. The runner-up will receive exhibition tickets.
The #profilerevolution competition (“The Competition”) closes at 12am on Wednesday 29 March 2017.
The Competition is only open to residents of the UK aged 18 or over.
One winning profile picture will be used to represent the Royal Academy’s Instagram account for the remaining duration of the ‘Revolution: Russian Art 1917-1932’ exhibition (“The Exhibition”). The winning designer will also receive a copy of the Exhibition catalogue and a pair of tickets to RA Lates: America Dreaming. The catalogue can be posted to their address or collected from the Royal Academy as preferred.
The runner-up will receive free Exhibition tickets, to be collected from the Royal Academy on arrival, eligible for any RA exhibition in the next 12 months.
Employees of the RA or anyone associated with this Competition are not eligible for entry.
Winners must confirm acceptance of their prize via direct message or email within 24 hours of notification, including their preferred way to receive their free catalogue. If necessary, they will also be required to send the original image file via email. In the event that the winner does not claim their prize within one day, the jury will select another winner.
By accepting the prize, the winner retains all copyright in his/her winning profile picture and will grant the Royal Academy a perpetual, world-wide licence, which is exclusive for the duration of the Exhibition, to reproduce your winning profile picture in any form whatsoever and for any purpose whatsoever. This may include, but will not be limited to:
- Use on the Royal Academy Twitter and Instagram accounts
- Use on the Royal Academy website
The prize is as stated, no cash alternative and non-transferable. The RA has the right to withdraw this prize at any time.
