We're proud to present a selection of new limited editions by Royal Academicians in celebration of the Royal Academy’s 250th anniversary.
“Artists have always been excited by the possibilities of using printing as an original and expressive medium. From Rembrandt to David Hockney and from Hokusai to Tracey Emin, printmaking has expanded the range and reach of authentic creative ideas. Print opens to artists methods of making through collaboration in craft and technology.” – Chris Orr RA, 2017
Including new prints by Norman Ackroyd, Stephen Chambers, Eileen Cooper, Anne Desmet, Paul Huxley, Chris Orr, Tom Phillips, Emma Stibbon, Christopher Le Brun, John Carter and Rebecca Salter, the exhibition in particular showcases work by Royal Academicians elected in the Printmaking category. We are very grateful to Senior Academicians Jennifer Dickson, Leonard McComb, Peter Freeth and Mick Moon for donating works for sale to be included in the exhibition. Limited editions made on-site in the RA Schools by Grayson Perry RA and Allen Jones RA will also be exhibited.
The works exhibited are available to buy online through Art Sales at the RA.
