Young Patrons: Jack Lavender and Hannah Lees Studio visit
Monday 20 June 2016 7.30 - 9.30pm
Camberwell
Free, but please RSVP. Patrons only.
Please join us in Camberwell for a studio visit with these two fascinating artists where we will learn more about what drives and inspires their practice.
Jack Lavender (b.1983) adopts objects that would normally be seen as the detritus of our lives, and pairs them with high quality applications and construction. With his works sitting between the disciplines of painting, sculpture, and collage, he brings different elements together to create a whole new entity.
Hannah Lees (b.1983) investigates the underpinning ideas of the both constant and cyclic nature of mortality, the sense that things come to an end and then there are potentials for new beginnings. This constancy, be it in religion or in organic matter, is visible through her attempts to understand and recognise traces of life.
Limited availability, full address provided on RSVP.
