Young people's programme: cyanotype printing
Saturday 15 August 2020 10am - 4pm
The Clore Learning Centre, Burlington Gardens, Royal Academy of Arts
Free for young people aged 15 - 19. Booking required.
Experiment with cyanotype printing in this free and practical workshop for young people aged 15 - 19.
Due to the ongoing circumstances surrounding coronavirus, we regret to inform you that we have made the difficult decision to cancel all events advertised for 2020 at this moment.
During this one-day workshop, artist Adam Hogarth will guide you through the technique of cyanotype printing and teach you how to mix chemicals safely. Using hand-made marks, photographs and collage techniques, you will learn how to create cyanotypes that you can use in your own artistic practice. The day ends with participants collaborating to create large scale, 2-metre prints.
Adam Hogarth is the etching fellow at the RA Schools. He has exhibited nationally, internationally and most recently at the Royal Academy with a display entitled Spring and Summer which celebrated the life and work of Mary Moser.
Our young people’s programme invites 15 – 19yr olds to take part in free, practical workshops led by professional artists. Inspired by our exhibition programme and the RA Collection, each workshop focuses on working with new materials and discussing different approaches to making art.
Young Artists' Summer Show
We're now accepting submissions for this year's Young Artists Summer Show – an opportunity for students aged 5–19 to exhibit their work online and at the RA.
All you have to do is ask your teacher to register your school to take part. Once that's done you can enter your artworks via the website until the deadline on 24 April 2020.
