Young Patrons are invited to a studio tour with Royal Academy Schools graduates Rhys Coren, Hamish Pearch and Glen Pudvine – who are all now based in artist run studio and gallery space, PLAZA PLAZA.
Since graduating from the RA Schools, Rhys Coren, Hamish Pearch and Glen Pudvine have joined the community of artists at PLAZA PLAZA in Elephant and Castle to continue their practice.
Rhys Coren graduated in 2016 and works across animation, writing, performance and painted marquetry. He displays an obvious pleasure in rhythm, form, colour, texture, space and negative space across these mediums and describes a direct link between his experience of music and the visual language of his practice.
Hamish Pearch graduated more recently in 2019 where he was awarded the newly instated RA Young Patrons Prize. Pearch combines object and image in his sculptures to convey a unique concept around storming information.
Glen Pudvine, who also graduated from the RA Schools in 2019 is most well-known for painting pseudo-history self-portraits, often nude, which use explicitly, fantastical imagery and dark humour to deconstruct contemporary masculinity. Since graduating, he has been featured as one of Time Out’s ‘Best Young Artists in London 2019’.
Young Patrons will have the chance to see how their work has developed and find out about life after graduating from the RA Schools.
