Friday 14 October 2016 6.30 - 7.30pm
The Reynolds Room, Burlington House, Royal Academy of Arts
£12, £6 reductions.
Join artists Yinka Shonibare MBE RA and David Shrigley as they discuss new work, as well as their experiences of being commissioned to create pieces for the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square with art critic and lecturer Gilda Williams.
In this event we bring together two celebrated artists on the occasion of Shonibare’s sixth solo exhibition at Stephen Friedman Gallery titled …and the wall fell away and the unveiling of David Shrigley’s Fourth Plinth commission Really Good in Trafalgar Square. Both influential artists share a particular perspective on British humour and reflect on the impact on their respective practices of being commissioned to create art for the Fourth Plinth.
